Imagelight Comments on State of the Union Address
Imagelight’s President Ryan Prucker previewed the effect of President Obama’s State of the Union speech, and it’s power to reassure the U.S. business community. The interview was conducted by Xinhua News a day before the 2011 State of the Union.
The excerpt is below, see the full story link at the bottom:
Ryan Prucker, an image specialist and president and CEO of Imagelight, said business leaders understand creating a plan and putting it into action, and will want to see Obama lay out a strategic plan aimed squarely at boosting growth. Moreover, they also want to see how it will be implemented in the coming years.
Rather than giving the president more time — Obama has been in office for two years now — businesses want to see action right away, as they have responsibilities to their shareholders and employees, he said.
They will also want to see a timeline. “Any successful business knows that timelines, deadlines and benchmarks are essential to moving a company forward,” he said.
As for the delivery of the speech, the president will have to watch his tone. “He has to be pitch perfect when it comes to his tone, but at the same time stay focused on his ultimate objective,” Prucker said.
“He has to look as though he’s still a strong leader who can put forth his agenda, but still accommodating,” he said. “It’s that delicate balance of making sure that he doesn’t appear to be taken off track or easily swayed because the Democrats lost significantly in the last election.”

BMW has a new technique to see their brand in a new way.
I saw this really unique way of advertising and had to share it with all of you. BMW has had great ads for years and their brand sticks out when you think of them. If you close your eyes right now and picture the BMW logo can you see it? If you can’t then don’t worry because BMW has figured out a way to imprint their logo on the back of your eyelids using an old concept and a new technique. Whenever we look into something bright and then close our eyes we can still see that bright light. BMW is taking this same concept and trying to replicate it through their ads. What they have done is setup a BMW logo behind a theatre screen and while they play their ad a flash of bright light is sent through the screen and out to the audience. In the ad it says to close your eyes and when they did this, the audience was able to see the BMW logo, the same way we would see the sun if we stared at it for a few seconds and then closed our eyes. Below is a movie of the actual demonstration.

The Chocolate Pizza Company has been a fixture in the Central New York community for over 22 years in Marcellus, NY with their signature Chocolate Pizza and Wings. Novak tragically lost his mother at an early age, but before she passed he and his mom would frequent the Chocolate Pizza Company. At age 15, Novak became an employee of the Chocolate Pizza Company and once told former owner, Bonnie Hanyak, that he would one day own the shop. Now a senior at Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management, Ryan Novak has acquired the store and is already expanding its territory locally and nationally on the Internet. “We are so excited about our new Manlius location because it allows us to bring our unique product into a new community,” says Novak.
The Chocolate Pizza Company get’s its name for it’s signature item- a chocolate pizza, a premium chocolate blended with English toffee poured into a round “pizza” shape. The pizzas are topped with almonds, pecans, walnuts, and a white chocolate drizzle, and served in genuine pizza boxes. The obvious companions to the chocolate pizza are “wings” that are made from locally produced potato chips and are covered in peanut butter and dipped in chocolate. Strategic Communications Plan
To be successful in any business or endeavor you must have a plan. Where are you currently? Where do you want to go? What is your strategic communications plan to reach that goal? While this strategic communications definition is a bit subjective based on the type of business or organization being discussed, there are a few consistent elements to consider.Your plan must provide a detailed look at the barriers that exist, the opportunities that are available and the potential that is waiting to be seized upon. Based on those results, a plan of action is required to ensure the organization is moving forward with a comprehensive message, organization and system for success.
Often times, it is not until we take a step back and look at the organization with a fresh perspective that new ideas and a clearer understanding is gained. Think of the sleepless nights you endure as you toss and turn thinking about the success you should be achieving. Acknowledge the aggravation you feel knowing you should be generating more revenue, making a larger impact or capturing market share because of your experience and expertise. Moving beyond the frustration and seeking concrete solutions that are achievable is the first step in creating a strategic communications plan.
Solutions may include becoming more visible in the media outlets your customers consume, being seen as an expert in your field, or creating an internal structure that capitalizes on the successful staff you already have. Whether its devoting your time and money to public relations and marketing or focusing on corporate communications between senior leadership and on-the-ground representatives, your strategic plan will create a road map to the future.
So, what is the first step in creating a plan for yourself or your company? Finding a trusted adviser who is impartial, has your best interest at heart, and can prove their experience is essential. The reality is that there are many individuals who work hard to obtain a strategic communications degree in hopes of developing a successful strategic communications career, but lack the “hard knocks” experience necessary. It is in your best interest to find someone who is “seasoned,” which basically means they’ve made every mistake in the book, and can hit the ground running without on-the-job training. You don’t have time and money to waste. To be successful, you should work with a professional who can show you their experience, explain their methodology, paint a vision for your future and have proof they have implemented the changes they suggest.
In the end, you must have a plan. Every moment you wait to discover your true strengths and weaknesses, barriers and opportunities, is one more day the competition has a jump on you. Think you have time to push off creating a strategic communications plan? Ask yourself this question; “What opportunity am I missing right now at this moment?” If you don’t know the answer or have a series of solutions in place, your time to strike is now.

October 10, 2010 Washington, DC- Ryan Prucker, Image Specialist and president of Imagelight appeared on FOX News Channel’s America’s News Headquarters to discuss the record political spending for the 2010 election.
The segment focused on why spending was at an all time high and what it says about this election season. In the interview, Prucker commented on the unforeseen opportunity that candidates are taking advantage of. “After the election President Obama in 2008 there was a feeling that the win was so overwhelming, there wouldn’t be a republican elected for another decade. Two years later, republicans are in striking distance to reclaim power. So, republicans are throwing the kitchen sink at this opportunity and they are forcing democrats to pony up in a big way to defend themselves,” said Prucker.
Prucker also remarked that spending money gives a candidate the power to define his or her opponent and tap into the frustration and emotion that exists. “Candidates either spend their money trying to create voter emotions or they spend money trying to capitalize on the emotions that already exist. With the economy, jobs and real problems people are facing, there is no shortage of emotions,” said Prucker. The interview went on to play a collage of attack ads to be screened for their effectiveness.
